A quarterly e-journal on writing and communication
Words is a free, quarterly journal for technical writers and communicators—indeed, for anyone with a passion for words and for what you can do with them.
Each issue of Words will include articles on language, authoring tools and authoring methodologies. Occasionally, other topics will be covered, such as document design, usability and audience profiling. There will also be reviews of books and software from time to time.
The August 2010 issue of Words is now available and includes articles on:
Writing for translation
Packaging files with Acrobat
Converting legacy MS Word documents
Custom toolbars in FrameMaker
Pitfalls in procedure writing
The issue also includes book reviews, discussion, a punctuation contest and puzzles, and also explains how you can get a free three-month subscription to Macquarie Dictionary Online, the most up-to-date record of Australian English.
